Merzouga Desert Tour — FAQ
The drive from Marrakech to Merzouga is approximately 560 km and takes around 7 to 8 hours. We recommend a 2-day trip: drive to Merzouga on Day 1 with scenic stops along the way, spend the night near the dunes, and return on Day 2. This allows you to enjoy both the sunset and the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes.
The tour price includes the private vehicle, professional driver, fuel, and road tolls for both days. Accommodation, meals, camel rides, and quad biking activities are not included but can be arranged on request when you book.
We can recommend and help arrange camel treks and traditional Berber camp experiences in the Erg Chebbi dunes. Just let us know when you book via WhatsApp and we will coordinate it for you — from a simple camel sunset ride to a full overnight luxury camp stay.
The best months are March–May and September–November, when daytime temperatures are comfortable (25–30°C). December to February can be cold at night but the dunes are beautifully clear and uncrowded. Avoid July and August due to extreme heat which can reach 45°C or above in the desert.
